Section 4. Consolidating learning

In this section, we re-visit your learning in the other sections and help you reflect on your experiences of learning within a surgical placement.

Examples of potential seminar/revision questions you may encounter with regards to caring for a patient undergoing surgery are considered, together with possible responses in relation to the content found in this book and elsewhere.

It is important also to refer to the Nursing and Midwifery Council standards and domain competencies that you will be achieving in the placement and how your learning in practice can help you, in collaboration with your mentor and others, to gain new skills and consolidate others.
